Bridge Concept by Feylore Bridge Concept by Feylore
The second assignment I had for class. We've moved on from characters (need to upload some pictures of the model...). We're modeling an environment and eventually putting it into UDK. I had to mimic a style and for this I chose Assassin's Creed.

It looks awesome! I love the colors and how it looks like it's late in the afternoon instead of just being nondescript. XD Very nice! The textures are a nice touch, too. 8D

8D the afternoon light was purely an accident! I added bloom to the picture and some color gradation and BOOM. It's afternoon. My original picture really was a nondescript time of the day.

BUT GOOD TO KNOW IN THE FUTURE. I must now research lights during certain parts of day. So I may impress future onlookers by telling them "Why Yes! It IS 4:08 in the afternoon in this picture, great eye!"

It's an extra little detail that makes you sound like you were really paying attention when you drew it. "WHY YES, I MEANT FOR IT TO BE IN THE MORNING, TO GIVE THE PIECE A MORE MELANCHOLY MOOD. MARVEL AT MY DEPTH AND ATTENTION FOR DETAIL."

Wonderful picture! It really does look assassin creed-y! but....udk? Seriously? I wish you the best of luck on that one. I for one could never get anything to work right on that platform, but hey, maybe you have prof's who know that they're doing.

Well all I have to worry about is getting the art into the engine, which seems pretty straightforward. It'll be an experience that's for sure. Honestly though, I was able to get CryEngine to work and that is eons harder to handle compared to UDK. Thanks though Katie! :D

Can't wait to head home for the holidays and see the entire crew! I miss you guys lots!

Oh well then, sounds like you were taught how to do things! (sadly, my class were the Guinea pigs for the class and the prof had never used the engine before)

We miss you to! Can't wait to see you guys again! :D

A lot of the stuff I learned was purely from research. My art class JUST started teaching us how to get things into the engine (and technically we haven't done it yet so it's still new to me). My team is on an extremely tight schedule and frankly we don't have to time wait for our professors to teach us anything.

There's a lot you can learn just by googling! I wouldn't have figured out CryEngine otherwise. At least UDK has a lot of documentation! :D How are things going with you btw?

That is very true, I have to admit anything that I did learn was from the official UDK website with all those awesome tutorials.

Eh, its been a tough semester. I hate my art history class (contemporary art from 1945-now), and 2D animation is a lot more time consuming for me than 3D ever was...but that just could be because I'm not all that into after affects. Other wise, my sculpture class is awesome, the professor is letting me make a zombie for a project. Just seems that I have too much work with not enough time. :/ oh well, sounds like we're all in the same project boat.
